United Way Day of Caring, scheduled each October on the annual Make a Difference Day, is a celebration of community volunteers giving 'One Day to Help One Another'. Volunteers provide helping hands to individuals or non-profit agencies that need assistance. Projects include painting, teaching computer skills, collecting food for the Food Pantries, landscaping or yard work, washing windows, and much more. Most volunteers serve approximately 4 hours.
Family members, friends, neighbors, civic clubs, churches and co-workers can form a team. Teams range in size from 2 to over 22.
If your business or community organization is willing to donate materials for projects, or food and beverages for the volunteers, call the United Way of Citrus County office at (352) 527-8894.
Day of Caring on Make a Difference Day is a partnership with Nature Coast Volunteer Center, Citrus Harvest, and the United Way of Citrus County.
